As I was driving through a heavy fog yesterday, God spoke to me: "You don't see the end, but you trust I'll get you there. You don't see past your present gloomy feeling, but I have prepared a place of sunny laughter for you. Press on, persevere and take heart. I know where I'm taking you."
Lord, why are you so good to me? I could not see 4 feet away from my car! That's how bad the fog was. But I knew that if I kept driving, pressing on, I would get to my destination even if I could not see a full view of where I was going. And that is exactly how it is with our calling from the Lord! I don't know what specific and individual calling you have from Him, or even if you're following Him, but I do know that He is faithful to get us through what He calls us to.
The enemy may fog my life to confuse my soul, but I'm no giving up. I will continue to fight, as I persevere, knowing I will finish my race as God intended it. What I'm going through is a process, yes, but I like to see it as a victory in process. And I can advise you to do the same. Don't give up. Please, whatever you do, don't give up on the Lord if you find yourself through a fog. Faith wills to continue when all else fails, I can tell you that much. This too shall pass, my friend, just like the fog cleared away hours later. You are called to be victorious, not destroyed.
If He called you to it, He'll get you through it.
This is so beautiful and true! Your fog metaphor is spot on! Thank you for sharing about the struggles of your heart.
ReplyDeleteoh my GOSH. so i just joined bloglovin and saw your blog and seriously...
ReplyDeletei noticed you're reading "the pursuit of God." yesterday before church i was eating some breakfast and realized i'd left the book i'm reading, CRAZY LOVE {which you recommend!} in my car, so i decided to start reading the pursuit of God.
THEN, as i was frantically trying to confirm that indeed that was the same book i picked up yesterday, i noticed that on my bookshelf "to be read" is
redeeming love
&
authentic beauty
two other books you recommended!
so... we both have good taste ;)
wow this is amazing! i love it.
ReplyDeleteWow. This is just beautiful. Isn't it so cool how God speaks through nature and our surroundings sometimes. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteGod is faithful. "I don't know what the future holds, but I know who holds it"
ReplyDeleteI'm praying for you.
<3
that last verse is so true, so amazing and SO comforting. love your blog girly
ReplyDeleteBeautifully written, Ashes. The same it has been for me. I've been so stressed under my pile of uni work and God has been telling me, "my dear, I have brought you through so many obstacles, I have shown you that I will bring you through and that you can trust me. I have done it before, and I will continue to do so."
ReplyDeleteIt's His peace that keeps my heart still. God is so amazing.
