a difficult course

posted on: 5.11.2012

Let me tell you, the world is my classroom and the Lord Jesus my teacher.
It is life, or should I say His will, that teaches some difficult courses.
I have to say, sacrificial love is the hardest one to date because it always comes with suffering.
And, oh, how we shy away from suffering.
We think suffering is punishment but it's quite the contrary.
Suffering can be many things from battling cancer to not hearing the Lord.
And just recently, I've been content with hardships.
I've been inspired by this video, so much so, that I've been stalking this couple's blog.
They both seem to be wise in the matters of suffering. I see God in their love.

I echo the words of Jim Elliot on February 5, 1948:
"All things are against me," said Jacob (Gen 42:36). Little knew he the hand of God, for what seemed to be against him was really working for his salvation.
Give me, this day, Lord, fresh confidence that "all things are working for good" (Rom. 8:28).

He is making me confident. And I may just pass the test.

  1. Thank you so much for this! Sometimes in our hardships we forget that God is still working in our lives. It's always great to have a reminder that hardships build character and prepares us for kingdom work. : )
