To those who trust Him

This is what the LORD says:
“Cursed is the one who trusts in man,
who draws strength from mere flesh
and whose heart turns away from the LORD.
That person will be like a bush in the wastelands;
they will not see prosperity when it comes.
They will dwell in the parched places of the desert,
in a salt land where no one lives.
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD,
whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”
- Jeremiah 17:5-8

This season of waiting translates into a season of trust. You can't have one without the other; there is no faith without hope. You learn to keep walking until you can't anymore. And Then you rely on God to divide the sea so you can continue walking until you fulfill your destiny. You have no choice but to trust & wait for God to come through. I love the picture painted in this passage: when you are truly confident in your God, you don't fear or worry, even in the midst of the heat. Heat is a metaphor of times of testing (a rough season). The Lord is saying that He will not let you dry. As long as you keep close to Him, He will make sure you always bear fruit. In fact, it will be inevitable. He calls you blessed. So if today you find yourself, like me, trusting the Lord in the middle of the heat, know that the Lord calls you blessed. Don't fret, just trust... hope... have faith. His name is on the line, not yours.
Your trust is not in vain. Just worship Him and keep walking.

  6. Hello!

    I came across your blog and really truly have been inspired. This post almost made me cry for some reason. Something about the image of a strong, deeply rooted tree planted by a life-giving spring is such a beautiful image. I need to trust more. God IS in control. Thank you for your words! I am excited to read more.
