I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry. Psalm 30:1,17
This past Sunday I was in bed, ill.
It's been 8 yrs now with this affliction.
I've prayed all kinds of prayers and asked
for healing multiple times.
His answer has been yes many times, granting me a temporal request.
Other times His answer has been no, like this past weekend.
I've learned to worship Him through it.
"Lord, I know you have the power to heal me and
I know that You want to, but I won't ask you to take the pain away anymore.
I will ask only for You to give me the ability to bear it and rest.
You are sovereign," was the only prayer I could utter.
Shortly after that, I fell asleep.
Many of you won't understand, after all, healing should be done once;
but He answered my prayer of rest, even if it was just for half an hour.
One day He will heal me completely, once in for all.
But until then, I keep depending on Him.
Year after year, month after month, day by day.

9 Smiles:

  1. Oh my goodness, where did you come from!?? I feel like the woman who bled for years and years and who reached out for healing from Jesus--I don't know what you are suffering from but I was diagnosed with a tumor disease in 1996, and have endured 41 surgeries and I swear to you I have prayed the exact same thing. Not necessarily anymore to be healed, but to endure, and to embrace what beauty He can bring out of my suffering. I can choose not to be defined by my circumstances, because only Satan wants to bring me down and he came to 'kill steal and destroy' I believe ones like us are so powerful for the Kingdom, so we are attacked more by the evil one.
Thank you for your beautiful, amazing post!!!

  6. I can't imagine how difficult struggling with healing is. The only reference I have is my mother, but the thing is, I've seen God do great things and God is not a respecter of persons.

  7. For some reason through this post I was immediatley reminded of when Paul repeatly asked the Lord to remove the thorn in his flesh and the Lord repeatedly reminded him that His gracious favor is all we need and God's strength is made perfect in our weakness(2 Corinthians 12:8-10). So I pray that this will encourage you in some way and that you continue to surrender your health to God with an open heart and seek His direction/will in your prayers.

God bless you & wishing you a speedy recovery!
