11 months

What's a little ocean between us when you're this close to my heart?

I've spent the last 11 months with the most intimidating godliest man I know. You can read a little about his side of our beginning here. The Lord called me out of the US 4 months ago and we've been doing the long distance relationship since. We have the skype screenshots to prove it:

However, the guy was here 3 weeks ago! Best couple of days in a while.

Word of advice? Long distance is HARD, but not impossible.
If anything, this has brought us closer. Funny how God works, huh? It's like with Isaac and Rebecca. He makes the impossible, possible. He makes the unlikely work out; all because the Lord had it planned! All for His glory.

It's going to be almost a year since this godly man showed up to a blue house, knocked on the door and found a nervous girl who's never done 'courtship' before and asked her spiritual authority the permission to get to know her. We knew we wanted all of God, and that somehow included us being in each others lives.

Thank you L, for this adventure.  We have no idea when we will see each other, but we know we will. Each day with you gets better and better.

  1. As weird as it sounds, this is incredibly helpful for me to see. I'm a senior in high school and I've been thinking a ton about dating and relationships in my past, present and future. It's hard to figure out what the healthiest, most beneficial thing is when for the most part, all I see modeled is the dating gone wrong that most high schoolers go for. Seeing God-focused, God-honoring relationships is a real encouragement. :)

  2. Aw you're so right, long distance can be pretty hard. I honestly think it is not for everyone and it is not always possible. However, if you guys get through this, it will mean you were made for each other.. simple as that(:

  7. I know we will get through this. I'm a freshman in college, so me and my high school boyfriend that have been dating for 2 and a half years are now in a long distance relationship. We have been for 3 months now, I agree that its hard but it brings us so much closer!

  8. I stole a line from your blog and tweeted it.

Because of the recent awakening of LOVE and the lack of constraint mentally to want to talk to this person constantly... I have decided to deactivate the tool easily used for edification and distraction FACEBOOK and seek the Lord fully. I don't know why I'm telling you this but I just pray that I can stay strong and resist any type of pursuit while the LORD works this all out in my heart and in the heart of this man who is showing me interest.

Would you pray for me sister? Your blog is a blessing and much needed refuge as always...

  12. This was beautiful.
I can tell you from first hand experiencing-- nothing matters more than being with a man that loves and fears GOD. My husband pushes me towards integrity and living a life of pursuing and following Christ.
You two have a beautiful thing going on. Cherish it. I'm excited to see where God takes your relationship.
My husband and I had to go through long-distance from December - May of this year for some specific training he had to go do for work... it was super difficult! But you're right, you grow closer. With God on your side, you can withstand anything.

  15. My now husband and I had to do long distance for 3 years every other 3 months (I had internships required for school) and it was so hard but being forced to communicate mostly on the phone made our relationship even deeper. There's something special about making it through all that. Keep staying positive!

  30. Oh dear I can definitely relate to this! My husband and I were in a long distance r/s for nearly 2 years and of those 2 years I was away in France for 6 months. We were both committed to each other and ready to move closer, but he eventually moved to my town and left everything behind to start a new life with me. God was at the center of it all because everything fell into place. Such a blessing.
