Gratitude & other things

School days are almost gone and I couldn't be happier.
I've been pondering a lot about life & time... (photography analogy coming, you've been warned!)
Cameras have the ability to capture a moment, a moment that stands still.
You only see that moment, not what happened before or what happens after that moment.
This moment is not everlasting but it is real.
I can relate to that. I'm only a snapshot of God's plan.
I'm gonna die one day... actually, each day I'm closer to my death.
And no, don't take out your violin just yet!
Pause and be grateful for the breaths you've taken and the mercy you've experienced
Thank You, Abba, for allowing me to type these words. Forgive me for believing I have tomorrow.

We don't have tomorrow, so make this moment, this snapshot, count.

Currently grateful for:

  1. The beautiful morning devotions with the Lord; nothing like His presence
  2. God's voice
  3. Summer 2012 and the memories I'll be able to make with the people I love
  4. Finishing this semester
  5. Family time
  6. My grandma (her diagnosis, treatment & recovery process)
  7. 11 years of unfailing greetings from my dog
  8. Photo shoots, film adventures & new camera equipment
  9. Letters from all over the world headed to my mailbox
  10. The people God has surrounded me with in this moment in time
  11. Seeing L in a month
  12. The blogging community
  13. Working in the fashion industry & being light
  14. Your provision
  15. Love; being loved and loving.

    What are you grateful for?

How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog--it's here a little while, then it's gone. James 4:14
Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.
Psalm 144:4

  1. I totally agree. Lately I've been thinking about how non-permanent I am. We only have so much time, and we don't know how much we'll get, so we have to love God and others as much as we can.

    Nice post!! :)

  3. This is a beautiful, beautiful post. You truly have such a wonderful spirit and I'm blessed to have met you in this crazy, blogging world. When I read, "Forgive me for thinking I have tomorrow." I actually stopped and my jaw dropped. I just never really thought about it. I just always expect to wake up tomorrow and have that time. Thank you so much for blessing me with your words, Ashley. I am grateful for people like you.

We indeed are not promised a tomorrow.
I'll make the most of the moment of today.

    I'm thankful for...

    Honest heart to hearts.
A friend who left a Christ centered legacy and is now with Daddy God.
    Flowers blooming.
    Momma hugs.
    Little child smiles.
And many other little things that are actually not little at all.
