DIY ripped jeans

posted on: 12.30.2008

I made some rippies! I love them! I wanted to do some ripped pants for a long time.

I'm going to show you how. You'll need: Scissors or an exacto knife, and some denim jeans. First, i took some pants i haven't worn in a long time. I put them on and, with a pen, I outlined where i wanted the holes/rips to be. i made circles to the places where i want to just make an opening and rip it with my hands; or i where i just wanted play with the fabric. On the image on the left, the pink circles identify where i have made the outlines.

Some people stain the jeans with coffee or wash it a couple of times and then tumble dry it before wearing them. What i did after ripping/cutting was throw it in the washer real quick to fade the pen lining and to make the rips more natural. And i hanged it outside to dry. And thus, my ripped jeans.

Cutting through the outlines with the exacto knife. Be very careful and PATIENT when doing this. Trust me, exactos can be very dangerous. Pretty much from then on, you just get creative and continue to do it your own way. Cutting the jeans. Be careful not to cut through the back side of the jean.

The final result!

Here is to all those young ladies who are spending their nights alone with a hand holding on to hope and a heart full of faith...while thinking about romance they way a princess would.

"It doesn't matter if the guy is perfect or the girl is perfect, as long as they are perfect for each other." -Good Will Hunting

"Miss Elizabeth. I have struggled in vain and I can bear it no longer. These past months have been a torment. I came to Rosings with the single object of seeing you... I had to see you. I have fought against my better judgment, my family's expectations, the inferiority of your birth by rank and circumstance. All these things I am willing to put aside and ask you to end my agony....I love you" -Pride & Prejudice

"Summer romances begin for all kinds of reasons, but when all is said and done, they have one thing in common. They're shooting stars, a spectacular moment of light in the heavens, fleeting glimpse of eternity, and in a flash they're gone." -The Notebook

Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain

"She doesn't relate to other people. She was always a lonely child."

I just finished watching Amélie. It's a great film full of hope and life's excitement. I was so happy to finally get the chance to see it. It's been a topic among my friends and I was always curious to unleash it's awesomeness. I loved it a lot. It reminds me of my life too!! how often do you relate to a movie this fully?
The film takes place in beautiful Paris. I had the privileged to have gone to montmartre, so it was wonderful to feel at home with the scenery! I wish i was in Paris...It's beautiful. Here are some of my favorite quotes from the movie:

"We pass the time of day to forget how time passes."

"It's better to help people than to be like a gnome in the garden."

"Times are hard for dreamers."

"Without you today's emotions would be the scurf of yesterday's"

"A woman without love is like a flower without sun; she wilts"

...and finals.

She landed smack in the middle of your world
and turned everything upside down until you
were addicted to her smile, her voice filled your dreams,
and everything that didn't make sense before
is all of a sudden perfect.

So today I got proposed. I'm engaged now. Im getting married on march and having a baby soon after wards. It's for a project from bible class. I was excited because none of the girls knew who would propose to who!! All the boys knew who they wanted and who they were proposing except the girls. It was loads of fun!! My 'fiance' sang to me, gave me flowers (my fav. red roses) and a plushie, plus he gave me a ride home from school; he outdid himself! I wanted to have a kitty as our baby but our teacher wouldn't give us a grade for it, so we have to get dolls eventually! Im really hoping to make the bridal dress, so I'll be working on that this Christmas, since the wedding is in March.

Finals start friday. I'm a bit over confident really. So, i dont have much to rant about that.
