Life. Life is a lot like a load of laundry. It goes in cycles. Over and over again, seasons come and go. And with every cycle, you get a step closer to the end. Until one day, it's over. The cycles stop. Life is over as the machine stops spinning.
I'll be 20 in exactly 7 days! I feel older. I'm definitely wiser and more mature. I still fear but I'm learning to let go. I'm learning to trust where the Lord takes me. I'm learning to endure and persevere. It's like adding fabric softener to my load of laundry.
-Journal entry from Feb. 5, 2011
Looking back, that seasons wasn't so bad. Not compared to today anyway. But life is only lived one day at a time.
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4"Whatever happens tomorrow, we've had today." - Emma, One Day
Forgive my scattered thoughts, for through my eyes it all makes perfect sense
I love your writing. I wish my journal entries had that much substance to them!!! I like that comment about you can only live one day at a time. Sometimes a period in your life can feel so difficult only for you to figure out years later that you didn't even know what difficult was.
ReplyDeleteI think God gets us through each day at a time to prepare us, and mature us for whats to come. He sees the big picture, we see one day at a time.
I stumbled upon your blog the other day, I love it!

great thoughts!
ReplyDeletethat scripture is heavy and awesome.
press on, friend! xo
Wonderful writing. Came across your blog via a comment you left on Vintch -- I've heard someone on the radio say once before, that God never puts more on us than he thinks we can handle. I totally believe in that, as much as I believe that He guides us through every day, one step at a time.
ReplyDeleteMind if I follow? Your blog is very interesting.

If my journal entries were that beautiful they'd be on a bookshelf next to Jane Austen.
ReplyDeleteYour words, your love for God, wow. Just wow. I'm in awe.
I am also feeling the same way about life though. I need to trust God more and let go of me.
So beautiful! I love the light
